Book Review: Ramadan Encyclopedia

Title: Ramadan Encyclopedia
Author: Amna Farooq
Illustrator: Fatima Naqvi
Publisher: Self-published
Recommended for: 5-7 year old

Love this! All the facts about Ramadan in one fun volume. the language is easy for the little ones to understand - no need to rephrase or paraphrase! Most books for young children are too wordy and so I'm always paraphrasing. But not with this one.

The illustrations are bright which makes it interesting and fun for children to follow. There are even activities for them to do. If you have young children then this is the go to book to read to learn about Ramadan.

There is information on different aspects of Ramadan from being the 9th month to how to fast, then laylatul Qadr and what to do on Eid, and others. There are references to the ahadeeth as well. It's a handy reference book on Ramadan to have that your children will enjoy reading.

By the way, there is also a companion colour in book so when you've read a concept to the children, you can have them do the corresponding colour in page! That's your lesson plan done.
