"The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires." William Arthur Ward
Teaching is more than just telling students what to do. When you tell students, they stop thinking and start to mimic which leads to mediocrity. As a teacher we should inspire our students to do what they can to achieve great things. We nurture their thinking as well as their behaviour to think and do the best they can.
But sometimes it's a bit hard to inspire students when you are stressed out with teaching. Maybe it's students' challenging behaviours or meeting government objectives and standards that can take its toll. Or it can even be dealing with difficult parents. Whatever the reason, nobody said that teaching is easy!
To de-stress you can simply sit in a quiet place and colour a picture. When you do this, it will take your mind off stressful thoughts as you concentrate on what colour to use and the movement of the colour pencils. This is actually called art therapy and it has been scientifically proven to work.
So to help you de-stress and take your mind off things, here is an art therapy colouring sheet just for you. As you colour you begin to relax and by the end of it, you will not only feel better but also have a lovely inspirational wall art to hang up somewhere to remind you to keep inspring your students.
You can get your free 'Teach & Inspire' colouring sheet here.
