A Fun Way For Children to Learn to Read Sight Words (Free Download)

Learning sight words can be tedious for young children. They either have to write it down over and over or constantly read them using flashcards. To make it more exciting, try playing a game of bingo with the words. In this way, children get to read the words as they play.

Whenever I teach children sight words I always find ways to make it fun. They still have to write the words and read them off flashcards but I have a variety of games that they can play using the sight words they are learning. Each time I pull out a game, they become excited again.

Try playing this game. It can be played with one child or up to 6 children. I have made it using leaves and bugs as a theme. It uses Dr Fry's first 20 common words: the, of, and, a, to, in, is, you, that, it, he, was, for, on, are, as, with, his, they, I. If your child is learning other words then I have made 2 game cards blank where you can fill in your choice of words. All instructions are on the package. It is free to download. I'd appreciate it if you could give me a review.

Grab your free sight word bingo game here.

If you and your children like this game then please stay tuned for when I release the whole set of reading games and an accompanying book. To do this, you'd need to follow this blog so that when I launch them, you will be notified.
