The Amazing Baby Rabbits

Spring is here down under and so finally, alhamdulillah, the baby rabbits have also arrived. Subhanallah, it is so amazing to witness the kits' development from day 1.

Baby rabbits are so unlike the baby guinea pigs. When baby guinea pigs come out of their mother's tummy they are fully formed but not so for the baby rabbits. We were truly amazed and humbled to witness this creation of Allah.
Verily! In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of night and day, and the ships which sail through the sea with that which is of use to mankind, and the water (rain) which Allah sends down from the sky and makes the earth alive therewith after its death, and the moving (living) creatures of all kinds that He has scattered therein, and in the veering of winds and clouds which are held between the sky and the earth, are indeed Ayat (proofs, evidence, signs, etc.) for people of understanding.
(  سورة البقرة  , Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #164)
The following is a documentation of the baby rabbits growth. To begin with, the pregnant rabbit prepares to give birth by pulling off her fur to line her nest. Allah had given her the instinct to provide a cosy place for her young ones. The fluff in the photo below is the fur from her coat.

Newborns at 1 day old. Eyes closed and no fur.

This is the kit at 5 days old.  Notice the eyes are still closed with just a bit of fluff - not sure what it's called. You can get a  feel for the size of the kit relative to my hand. It is so awesome to see these babies moving about seeking their mother's warmth. They move about blindly but they could tell where she is.

Here he is at 9 days old. Eyes are still closed but there is fur.

Cuddling up with the siblings at 13 days. Eyes slightly opened.

Eyes opened at about 14 days.

At about 3 weeks.

Subhanallah, it is in the creation of Allah that we see Allah's Greatness!
